In its August 26, 2026 update, the FDA said the investigation of a Listeria outbreak linked to Clover Hill Dairy soft ricotta/requeson cheese had ended. Cases were reported in Illinois, Maryland, New York and Virginia.

The final count was 15 illnesses, 14 hospitalizations and one death, with illness onsets ranging from March 2023 through July 2026. FDA said recalled cheeses should no longer be available in stores or restaurants and most were past expiration.

Consumers should still check refrigerators and freezers and should not eat or serve recalled products. If frozen cheese lacks its original package and cannot be identified, FDA advises discarding it. Product and distribution details should be checked against the official page.
